WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
To uncover our voices we must create an environment of curiosity and inspired limitation that fosters authenticity in our work. In my own journey to my voice, I have discovered so much richness in my inner landscape. Our beliefs, desires, and fears directly affect our ability to express ourselves truly.
Self-awareness coupled with practical experimentation empowers your creative practice.
I will work with each artist where they’re at right now. Whether you need to hone your technique, break through your limiting beliefs, or experiment with new ideas – we will work together to clear your creative path forward. Think of this as a think tank, a brainstorm, a laboratory.
I will offer a scene to work from as our subject. A live model, objects, theme, atmosphere. Each artist will find what interests them in this scene, allowing for the widest range of tastes to participate. I will work in oil as it is where my expertise lies, but my students may use any medium they favor. I will offer my supply list but I do not require students to adhere to it.
I welcome artists of all levels of experience to join this workshop.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Felicia attended the Art Students League of New York in 2006, moving next to San Francisco, CA where she began her career as a private instructor of painting and a fine artist. She has worked full-time as an artist since 2010, exhibiting in many shows nationally and internationally including The BP Portrait Award in 2015 and 2018 for which she was awarded second prize. She has been featured in podcasts and publications including The Huffington Post, Dazed Magazine, and numerous articles in Artists & Illustrators Magazine UK 2020-2022. Felicia is a highly sought-after teacher having taught at museums, schools, and privately all over the globe. In 2017 she was invited as a resident and grant recipient to the “Redbull House of Art” project in Detroit, Michigan. She currently maintains a studio in San Francisco, CA where she works and offers coaching remotely to private students.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If a month before the workshop we haven’t reached the minimum amount of students for the workshop to happen the workshop will be canceled and students will receive a full refund.
If you cancel less than 60 DAYS prior to the start of a workshop you will receive half of your registration fee, If you cancel less than 30 DAYS prior to the start of the workshop you will not receive a refund. If you must cancel in this time frame we encourage you to find a replacement, and your replacement can reimburse you for your course fee. If you cancel before the 60-day limit you will receive a full refund minus 3% processing fee. Unfortunately, students who start a multiple-day class and are unable to attend any portion will not receive a refund.
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND GLOBAL HEALTH POLICY (NEW!)
Workshops or classes will be canceled or rescheduled if inclement weather (hurricanes, snow storms, tropical storms, black ice, flooding, etc.) is on the forecast, or if a global health issue (pandemic) prevents groups from gathering. No one should take any unnecessary risks. If the workshop is canceled because of these out-of-control circumstances, all registration money will be returned to the students minus 3% processing fee. The workshop will be rescheduled if possible for both parties.

We’ll have a standing easel and a side table per student in the studio
Please make sure that all mediums you bring are odorless! and always covered during the workshop. We’ll have Gamsol for flying-in students.
