WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Over two days we will break down the various ways you can capture the world around you in the pages of a sketchbook. From combinations of writing and drawing, to fully detailed paintings, to collage, and page design including lettering and type play.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If a month before the workshop we haven’t reached the minimum amount of students for the workshop to happen the workshop will be canceled and students will receive a full refund.
If you cancel less than 60 DAYS before the start of a workshop you will receive half of your registration fee, If you cancel less than 30 DAYS before the start of the workshop you will not receive a refund. If you must cancel in this time frame we encourage you to find a replacement, and your replacement can reimburse you for your course fee. If you cancel before the 60-day limit you will receive a full refund minus a 3.5% processing fee. Unfortunately, students who start a multiple-day class and cannot attend any portion will not receive a refund.
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND GLOBAL HEALTH POLICY
Workshops or classes will be canceled or rescheduled if inclement weather (hurricanes, snow storms, tropical storms, black ice, flooding, etc.) is on the forecast, or if a global health issue (pandemic) prevents groups from gathering. No one should take any unnecessary risks. If the workshop is canceled because of these out-of-control circumstances, all registration money will be returned to the students minus a 3.5% processing fee. The workshop will be rescheduled if possible for both parties.
SUPPLIES LIST
Please note that this is just a suggested list. If you have similar supplies that you love to use, feel free to bring them. Samantha’s instruction will be more focused on ideas, capturing memories, and working with each artist’s unique style, as opposed to teaching a specific technique.
- Sketchbook with watercolor or mixed media paper. At least 5×5 inches. Some suggestions are: Strathmore 500 Series Mixed Media Sketchbook, Handbook Travelogue Linen watercolor sketchbook, or Moleskine Watercolor sketchbook.
- 2B or 3B pencil (any brand is fine)
- Plastic eraser (Staedler Mars or similar)
- Pigma Micron Pens. Suggested size: 01, 02 or PN. (you can also bring similar fine-line pens like Faber Castell Pitt pens or Copic pens. Just make sure that the ink is fully waterproof!)
- A basic watercolor set or Derwent Inktense Paints.
- A few watercolor brushes or Derwent water brushes.
- Paint rag or paper towels for blotting
- Water container
- Optional: Watersoluble colored pencils, Caran D’Ache Neocolor II water-soluble pastels
- Found papers for collage, food packaging, travel tickets, etc
- Glue stick, scissors (I will have extras to share)
