This approach to painting interior subjects from the particular technique of Carlos San Millán will focus on achieving unity and coherence in tones and lights (so important in this type of subjects) through previous underpainting work, chromatic nuances, and light treatment. This workshop is aimed at students with previous experience and intermediate or advanced level.
Biography:
“I was born in Spain in 1969 and now live and work in Quito, Ecuador. My paintings have a big autobiographical component: My subjects belong many times to my immediate environment, to my nearest reality, largely due to my belief that it is not necessary to go too far to find the universal in everyday things. I would define my work as a continuous searching that becomes frustrating sometimes; I’m a little obsessed with reaching some way to represent things and matter satisfactorily and definitively.”
DEMO
All interested in buying Carlos’ demo (if finished and for sale) will enter a drawing after the price for the demo is set. Last workshop day, a name will be randomly picked, and this person will be able to buy the demo. Good Luck!
