CLASS DESCRIPTION
Lisa Daria has painted one small painting every day for 12 years. As the volume of paintings continues to grow (4,300 paintings) she has no intention of stopping.
Please Join us on Wed. July 14th from 12:30 – 2:30 EST for a live virtual painting demonstration and paint along with daily painter Lisa Daria. Lisa will share tips about starting a daily painting practice, simplifying the process, and developing techniques to loosen up and create fresh, expressive paintings.
Join us in Lisa’s home studio, and if you want, be ready to paint along. This is a live demo with Q/A.
Recording will be available for 1 week after demonstration for those who register for the class.
ABOUT LISA
Lisa Daria Kennedy received her BA from Roger Williams University in Graphic Design, a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Illustration and an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2D. Lisa is an Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA.
I use painting as an insistent act of documentation and with it, record weeks, months, and years. Collectively, painting for me, becomes a timeline of choices and happenstance.
Having cancer as a young adult, I discovered living is not just surviving. I want to embrace each day, no matter how typical, so without excuse or hesitation, I begin each day by painting. The on-going nature of my practice leaves me rooting for the next day, while the parameters of my work keep me focused on the simplicities of my immediate surroundings. The small, intimate paintings of ordinary subjects create a structural framework of self-preservation. Each of these daily exercises is a vital component of the project’s ongoing, infinite progression.
