What is The Abundant Artist?
The Abundant Artist teaches artists how to dispel the myth of the starving artist. We teach artists how to sell art online through online courses and real-world workshops like this one! Over 12,000 artists have come through TAA’s courses, and dozens of artists credit TAA with helping them launch their art careers.
Cory Huff, founder of TAA, is the author of the best-selling book How to Sell Your Art Online (Harper Collins, 2016). He has been helping artists sell art since 2009.
WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?
TAA Workshops are not for everyone. These workshops are for artists who want to sell their art direct to the collector, with or without additional gallery representation.
If you only want to work with galleries, this workshop is not for you.
If you are a complainer, don’t come to the workshop.
If you refuse to set goals, don’t come to the workshop.
But if you are an artist who is focused on success, and would like to get some focused help when you need it, this is for you.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Day 1:
8:00 AM – arrival, registration, networking and breakfast. Fruit and simple pastries provided.
9:00 AM – Keynote – The Hidden Path of the Artist’s Career. An overview of why there is such a gap between art skills and business skills, and how to overcome that gap.
10:00 AM – Branding & niche workshop: how to figure out what you’re actually selling, who you’re selling it to, and where your customers and collectors are.
12:00 PM – Lunch on your own or with others from the group.
1:30 PM – How to Tell the Epic Story of Your Art. Learn how to turn your own origin story into a compelling marketing message – even if you think you don’t have anything to say.
3:30 PM – Connecting with Collectors: how to find out where your ideal collectors are spending time, and how to get in front of them.
Day 2:
Full Day, with breaks – Marketing plan workshop and hot seat. We spend time breaking down artists’ existing marketing to see what’s working, what’s not, and how to improve it. Each artist leaves with a specific, actionable plan that they can implement.
About Cory Huff
I’m Cory Huff, and I’m a business coach for artists. I’ve been helping artists sell art online since 2009, and I’ve helped hundreds of artists just like you figure out how to navigate the hidden path of the fine art career.
I wrote the book How to Sell Art Online: Live a Creative Life on Your Own Terms, in the summer of 2016. I’ve done guest lectures on marketing at schools like Southern Methodist University, Pacific Northwest College of Art, and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
My mission is not only to teach talented artists to sell their art online, but to dispel the “starving artist myth” forever. It is possible to make the art you want to create, live the creative life you want to lead, and make good money doing it.
